2017 IPPA Awards Program - Premios IPPA 2017

The International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) Awards Program recognizes the accomplishments of leaders who make important contributions to the field of positive psychology. IPPA will bestow the below awards at the Fifth World Congress on Positive Psychology.

El programa de premios de la Asociación Internacional de Psicología Positiva (IPPA) reconoce los logros de los líderes que hacen importantes contribuciones al campo de la psicología positiva. El IPPA otorgará los premios en el V Congreso Mundial de Psicología Positiva que se celebrará del 13 al 16 de Julio de 2017 en Montreal (Canadá).

Awards Categories

Christopher J. Peterson Gold Medal

This award represents the most important honor IPPA bestows. It should be conferred on the member whose career exemplifies the best of positive psychology – at the personal, professional, and academic levels.

Candidates will be asked to submit a CV with publication list in support of their nomination.

A medal and $500 award shall be presented to the recipient.

Past winners include Barbara Fredrickson, Ph.D. in 2013 and Nansook Park, Ph.D. in 2015.

Outstanding Practitioner Award

This award is to be bestowed to the IPPA practitioner who has shown the most outstanding excellence and impact in advancing the practice of positive psychology in ethical and evidence-based ways.

Candidates will be asked to submit a CV in support of their nomination.

A certificate and $300 shall be presented to the recipient.

Raymond D. Fowler Service Award

This award is to be bestowed to an IPPA member who has gone above and beyond to give his or her time in the service of advancing the field of positive psychology.

Candidates will be asked to submit a CV in support of their nomination.

A certificate and $300 shall be presented to the recipient.

IPPA Fellows Program

 

The aim of this award is to confer the title of Fellow on IPPA members who have contributed most significantly to the development of the association and to the scientific advancement of knowledge in their specific field of research or practice within the domain of positive psychology.

Candidates for the class of 2017 will be asked to submit a CV with publication list in support of their nomination.

A certificate and honorary lifetime membership in IPPA shall be presented to the recipients.

EARLY CAREER RESEARCHER AWARD

This award is to be conferred on the IPPA member who, within the first 10 years of completing their PhD, has contributed most significantly to scientific advancement of knowledge in positive psychology.

Candidates will be asked to submit a CV with publication list in support of their nomination.

A certificate and $300 shall be presented to the recipient.

 

IPPA Top Dissertation Award

This award will be conferred on the author of a Ph.D. dissertation that has been officially passed between February 28, 2015 to February 15, 2017. The research reported in the dissertation should address a topic in the domain of positive psychology.

The candidates will be invited to submit the following documents:

A CV with publication list (if available);An extended abstract of the dissertation (3-5 pages)A letter of reference by the tutor / supervisorAn electronic copy of the thesis

A certificate and $500 shall be presented to the recipient.

 

Scholarships

A number of student scholarships will be offered to currently enrolled full-time students in an accredited university / college who have been accepted to present an oral or poster presentation at the Fourth World Congress. The exact number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applicants and the amount of funds raised in support of the scholarship program. Selection

Eligibility

To be eligible for one of these IPPA awards, candidates must have an active IPPA membership at the time of their application. Anyone with a professional profile suitable for award consideration may be nominated, but candidates who do not yet have an active IPPA membership will need to join prior to submitting their application.

Nominations

Thank you to everyone who nominated a colleague for an IPPA award. The nomination period is now closed.

Applications

Identified candidates will be asked whether they would like to accept their nominations soon after the call for nominees close. If they would like to be considered for their respective award, candidates will need to submit an application with their supporting materials by February 15, 2017. Please see the award descriptions for information about the required supporting materials.

Review

All candidate application materials will be reviewed by the IPPA Awards Committee, chaired this year by Lea Waters Ph.D. Candidates will be notified of their application status in mid March, and the award winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Fifth World Congress on Positive Psychology.
